If you opt for the RST Performance Edition package with the 6.2L engine, output increases to 433 horsepower and 467 pound-feet of torque. Both gas V8s feature Dynamic Fuel Management technology that intelligently deactivates engine cylinders when you don’t need them for optimal fuel efficiency.
The pinnacle of Tahoe torque output is the optional Duramax® 3.0L turbo diesel inline six-cylinder (I6) engine. This re-worked version of the legendary Duramax delivers 495 pound-feet of torque, ten percent more horsepower than the Duramax from the 2024 model, and up to 624 miles of driving range.

2025 Chevrolet Tahoe Drivetrain
A powerful engine demands a drivetrain that can translate its strength into performance. The 2025 Chevy Tahoe sends its power to either just the rear wheels with the two-wheel drive (2WD) configurations or all of them with four-wheel drive (4WD). An Autotrac® single-speed transfer case is included with 4WD models with the LS, LT, RST, Premier, and High Country models.
To support rugged off-road adventures, the Z71 includes standard 4WD with an Autotrac two-speed transfer case that allows you to drive in four-low, shift on-the-fly from 2WD to 4WD, and also enables flat towing with a neutral position. You also get the two-speed transfer case with the Max Trailering Package. Both 2WD and 4WD drivetrains have a mechanical limited-slip rear differential that will lock the rear wheels to turn at the same speed if one starts to lose traction.
